“See Ya” Cifuentes nets 11 for Blackhawks

For the JCC of Bayonne’s Floor Hockey Jr. Division, its been one big scoring frenzy as all three teams continue to score at will and regrettably also give up points by the boat load. At (1-2), the Blackhawks faced the (1-1-1) Red Wings in yet another scoring feast. In the early going, things stayed close as goals by the Red Wings’ Michael “Stonewall” McCollum and Michael Egan paced the Wings with goals while the Blackhawks countered with two scoring strikes by Alejandro “See Ya” Cifuentes. Tied at 2 all, the Red Wings’ offense took off as Michael Egan, Jake Peregrin, and Sebastian Valles each notched goals to put the Red Wings up 5-2. Not to be out done, the Blackhawks responded with seven rapid fire goals as Alejandro Cifuentes (5 goals, 1 assist), Harsh Easwar (2 goals, 4 assists), Declan Good (1 assist), and Matt Miceli (1 assist) led the barrage. Suddenly trailing 9-5, the Red Wings’ Jake Peregrin hit his mark with a long distance net rocker to make it a 9-6 game. Still fired up from their seven goal surge, the Blackhawks mounted another charge, this time scoring four unanswered goals as Alejandro Cifuentes (4 goals), Matt Miceli (2 assists), and Harsh Easwar (2 assists) stretched the Hawks advantage to 13-6. With just under 10 minutes left to play, the tough minded Red Wings battled in three quick goals as Jake Peregrin (3 goals), Jordan Neustein (1 assist), Alejandra Valles (1 assists), and Michael McCollum (1 assist) kept the donnybrook rolling. Sensing that the Red Wings weren’t about to quit, the Blackhawks mustered one last insurance goal as Harsh Easwar flipped in his third goal for a 14-9 Hawks’ victory while recording his first “Hat Trick”. While the goals seemed to come in bushels both Aaliyana Cifuentes (Blackhawks) and Victor Mendolaro (Red Wings) must be given a special mention for facing every challenge with a winning focus.
