Violent Crime Task force arrests seven JC residents

JERSEY CITY — The Jersey City Violent Crimes Task Force arrested six men on Thursday, Oct. 20 at 207 Wegman Parkway in Jersey City on various charges including firearm, controlled dangerous substance, and gambling offenses, according to a release from Hudson County Prosecutor Esther Suarez.
At approximately 9:50 a.m., Task Force members arrested Marquis N. Moses, 32, Wallas Bonhomme, 33, Dominique D. Green, 23, Steffon Fowler, 37, Rashaad D. Milow, 25, and Jaime Gomez, 34, all of Jersey City.
The Jersey City Violent Crimes Task Force is an on-going cooperative initiative designed to combat violence and take illegal firearms off the streets of Jersey City. The Task Force consists of Hudson County Prosecutor’s Office Detectives, Jersey City Police Officers and Hudson County Sheriff’s Officers.
While in the process of making the arrests, Moses allegedly attempted to flee and also resisted arrest by using force against Task Force Officers, the release said. Moses was allegedly found to possess an illegal loaded firearm and approximately 80 bags of suspected heroin. During a subsequent search of his residence at 187 Wegman Parkway, officers recovered more than 400 additional bags of suspected heroin.
Bonhomme was charged with several drug charges and running a gambling operation out of a barbershop on Wegman Parkway. Green was charged with multiple Controlled Dangerous Substance offenses involving possession with intent to distribute and possession of Controlled Dangerous Substances. Fowler, Milow, and Gomez were each charged with possession of Controlled Dangerous Substances.
Altogether, officers confiscated more than 500 bags of heroin, 3 vials of cocaine, 2 bags of marijuana, one handgun, 15 bullets, one laptop with a credit card skimmer, a small amount of U.S. currency and they impounded a vehicle belonging to Green. Additionally, an arrest warrant for Alicia Shipman, 32, of Jersey City was issued on October 20, 2016. Shipman is the alleged girlfriend of Moses and they share an apartment on Wegman Parkway where Controlled Dangerous Substances were found during the search as well. Shipman later surrendered to the Jersey City Police.
