Feely, Mazziota end Penguins drought

Searching for their first JCC of Bayonne’s Sr. Division floor hockey victory, the (0-4-1) Penguins have lost four games by a total of six goals. With only one loss, the (3-1-1) Devils knew the Penguins could change that very quickly. Scoring within the game’s first minute, Marek Mickiewicz gave the Devils a 1-0 lead as Alejandro Cifuentes picked up the assist. Regrouping and going on the attack the Penguins built a 3-1 lead advantage as Megan Feeley zipped in two goals while Drew Radil fired in a dart. Returning the favor, the Devils went on a three goal spree with Mickiewicz assisting Cifuentes on his “hat trick” to give the Devils a 4-3 lead. As both squads slowed the pace, the Penguins set up camp in the Devils’ zone and began to snipe in goals at a steady rate as Logan Mazziotaroared in five goals, all assisted by Megan Feeley. Trailing 8-4, the Devils had their chances as Zachary Ciesmelewski and Mariam Rasslan tried to mount an attack and give their iron willed goalie Alex Riboldi a reprieve. Launching eight shots directly on net, the Devils effort came up short as the Penguins’ Harsh Easwar met the challenge head on to give the Pens an 8-4 victory.
