Cifuentes sparks Blackhawks stretch run

With their sights set on a run at the first place (5-1) Bruins the (3-2) Blackhawks needed to get past the (0-5) Red Wings to capture another JCC of Bayonne Jr. Division Floor Hockey win. Following a slow start, the Blackhawks got a jump start from AaliyanaCifuentes who nailed two net gems off assists by Brenden McCall and David Matos. Trailing 2-0, the Red Wings’ KhaledRasslan notched his first goal of the season with Alexandra Hulsman on the assist, making it a 2-1 bout. Seconds later, the Hawks regained a two goal advantage as Cifuentes quickly hit the “Hat Trick” mark with her third goal of the game this time with Christian Benson assisting. Down 3-1, the Red Wings fired in two long distance goals as KaileyDelauter launched an unassisted bomb while MariamRasslan assisted William Hulsman on his 4th goal of the season. Knotted up at 3 all and racing towards a neck and neck finish, the Red Wings once again stumbled down the stretch as the Blackhawks pulled away. After trading goals by Benson (Hawks) and Alexandra Hulsman (Wings), the Blackhawks took control as Cifuentes (3 goals, 1 assist), Matos (1 goal, 1 assist), Benson (1 goal), and McCall (1 assist) helped the Blackhawks move closer to first place with a 9-4 victory.
