Remembering Francis Albert Sinatra

Dear Editor:
May 14, 2016 will mark 18 years since the death of world renowned singer/actor Frank Sinatra in 1998. Hoboken, NJ’s native son left an indelible legacy of classy showmanship in his illustrious career, particularly in pop music. Sinatra literally lived ‘The Great American Songbook’ through recordings and filmed performances and for that, I along with legions of his fans including Peggy King and the All-Star Jazz Trio, big band singer Harry Prime, Sinatra maven/author Will Friedwald, talent promoter Billy Jon Coogan, archivist Anthony DiFlorio III, actress Jane Powell and WYYR program Director Chris Valenti are eternally grateful. Rest in peace, Frank.
To paraphrase one of the many Sinatra hit songs, ‘You’ll Always Be The One We Love.’ With the recent passing of his son Frank Jr. on March 16, perhaps they can work up a new act to swing among the stars, ‘Sinatra & Son.’
