Ferrante to be named Bayonne OEM coordinator

BAYONNE – Edoardo “Junior” Ferrante Jr. will be named coordinator of the Bayonne Office of Emergency Management (OEM), succeeding Fire Department Deputy Chief Keith Weaver upon Weaver becoming fire chief, Mayor James Davis has announced.
Both men will be sworn into their new posts at 2 p.m. on Friday, March 4 at the Bayonne Fire Department promotional ceremony in the Bayonne City Council Chambers.
Ferrante has served as deputy OEM coordinator since last year.
“Since his appointment in early 2015, Junior has skillfully assisted the city during times of emergency and recovery operations,” Davis said. “One needs to look no further than the blizzard we experienced earlier this year to understand the high level of dedication he has for our community.”
Davis said that Ferrante worked around the clock, before, during, and after the storm to facilitate communications between city administrators, workers, contractors, and residents.
“I have the utmost confidence in him and his abilities as he takes the reins of our Office of Emergency Management,” Davis said.
Ferrante holds a Bachelors Degree from New Jersey City University, and a Masters in Business Administration from Wagner College in Staten Island, N.Y.
