BURNS, LUCY P.

A mass of Christian burial took place Jan. 8 at Saint Aloysius Church, Jersey City, for Lucy P. Burns, 90, of Manchester and Jersey City. She passed away Jan. 2. Lucy began her career as a Wire Equipment Specialist for Western Electric. After retiring in 1983 she became an assistant Purchasing Agent for the City of Jersey City and in 1987 she began her Real Estate career working first at the Gordon Agency in Jersey City and later with Cross Roads Realty in Manchester.
Lucy was an avid golfer, an active member of the Navy League, the Women’s Auxiliary of Community Hospital in Toms River, St. Joseph’s Church in Lakehurst and St. Mary’s Church in Jersey City.
Lucy is survived by her son, Matthew Burns, Esq.; daughter, Maureen Burns Norton and her husband, James; grandchildren Erin Bongiovanni and her husband Louis, James Norton, Jr. and his wife Robbie, Lieutenant Commander Jacob Williams, US Navy and his wife Kathleen and Olivia Burns; great grandchildren Sophia, Justin and Nicholas Bongiovanni and Sean and Evan Williams; her niece Mary Kay and a host of nieces, nephews and friends too numerous to mention. Services arranged by the McLaughlin Funeral Home, Jersey City.
