Subacz Super as Bears Rally

Battling for the top spot in the JCC of Bayonne Indoor Flag Football Jr. Division, the (5-2) Colts and the (4-2) Bears were both geared-up for their week 6 showdown. Pouncing out to a 2-0 lead, the Bears’ defense tallied a safety on the game’s first play. After forcing the Bears’ offense to go three and out, the Colts got on the board with a 20 yard TD toss to David Matos. Trailing 6-2, the Bears’ Dylan Subacz reeled in a post to post TD bomb to put the Bears up 8-6. Two plays later the Colts countered as Aaliyana Cifuentes galloped 35 yard to paydirt making it 12-8, Colts. Slugging toe to toe, the Bears regained the lead at 16-12 with a TD and two point pass to Subacz. Down by two, the Bears kept rolling as Subacz rang up another TD catch and a two point snare as the Bears took a 32-2 lead with 6:08 remaining. Not to be outdueled, the Colts surged to a 34-32 lead fueled by a 40 yard sweep and a two point grab by Cifuentes. Just after the two minute warning both squads once again traded scores as Subacz (Bears) and Matos (Colts) each latched on to long TD tosses. Down 40-38, the Bears used the clock and some nifty play calling to set up Dylan Subacz’s goal to goal TD pass followed by a Subacz two-point connection making it 46-40 with just two seconds remaining.
