WARD, HUBERT J.

79, known to all as Hubie, passed away at home on November 5, 2015, surrounded by family and friends. Born in Bayonne, Hubie was a lifelong resident. The son of Kate and Dan Ward of County Donegal, Ireland, Hubie was first and foremost a proud Irishman. A retired Boilermaker and member of Local #28, Hubie lit candles for the Polish Solidaity movement in the 1980s and cursed President Regan for firing striking air traffic controllers. Hubie was also an avid sports fan, but most importantly Hubie was a family man who loved nothing more than to be in his backyard or down the shore with his Wife, his children, and the countless Nieces and Nephews who arrived each year from Ireland, Scotland, England and Woodbridge, NJ. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, serving in Korea. Husband of Grace (nee: Duffy). Father of Kathy Harden and her husband Laurence, Ann Marie Maglino and her husband Anthony, Danny Ward and his wife Caroline, and Mary Pat Blankenbaker and her husband Jay. Grandfather of Conor, Moira, Anthony, Danny, Eamon, Anthony, Pierce, and Gavin. Brother-In-Law of Joan Ward and her children Joe, Joanne and Jack. Hubie was predeceased by his parents and his brother Joe. In lieu of flowers, you may make a donation to either Parkinson’s Foundation or Saint Jude Children’s Research Hospital; envelopes will be available at the funeral home. Funeral arrangements by G KEENEN O’BRIEN Funeral Home, 984 Avenue C.
