89, a lifelong resident of Bayonne passed away on November 5, 2015. Robert was a proud US Navy Veteran of WWII where he received the Bronze Pelican and St. George Medals. He was an assistant Boy Scout Leader of troop 235 in Bayonne for over 40 years and a member of The Knights of Columbus. Robert was a Eucharistic Minister at St. Henry’s Parish, a member of their choir and a teacher of CCD there also. Robert was the husband of Florence (nee: Lago) Vayda and beloved father to Robert Gerard Vayda of Indiana. Robert was predeceased by his siblings Dorothy Petrovich and Edward Vayda and surviving him are his sister Edna Murdoch and brother Thomas Vayda and his wife Nancy, as well as a host of other relatives and friends.
