SILVERMAN, HERSCHEL

passed away on September 19, 2015. He was predeceased by his wife of 42 years, Frances, aka Laura, (nee: Rothschild). He is survived by a daughter, Elaine Teitcher and her spouse Norman, and son Jack Silverman and his spouse Terri, and grandchildren Jonathan (Yael) Teitcher, Arielle Teitcher, and Laura Silverman Weiss (Eli), a great grandson, Adam Teitcher and niece, Linda Barrett. Mr. Silverman was a U.S. Navy veteran of both the Second World War and The Korean Conflict. He was a N.J. Council on the Arts Fellow in Poetry. He was also owner-operator of Hersch’s Beehive candy store in Bayonne for 34 years. Among the many societies supported by Mr. Silverman are The Poets House Library, The N.J. Poetry Society, The Poetry Project at St Marks Church, The Bowery Poetry Club, the Bayonne Historical Society, The Museum of American Jewish History, The Museum of Jewish Heritage, The Jewish War Veterans of America, and others.
