Shooting claims life of 21-year-old in Jersey City, continuing violent trend started in July

JERSEY CITY – Less than 24 hours after the city celebrated the annual National Night Out Against Crime, a man was shot and killed near the intersection of Martin Luther King Jr. Drive and Forrest Street, continuing a rash of homicides that began last month.
Six people were murdered in July.
The latest victim, a 21-year-old man, according to Hudson County Prosecutor spokesman Gene Rubino, was shot multiple times and was taken to Jersey City Medical Center where he was pronounced on arrival.
A possible motive for the crime has not been released.
