NY Waterway encourages riders to use app; Hoboken mayor plans to talk to company

HUDSON COUNTY — With many first-time customers using the NY Waterway ferry/bus network and with storm-damaged ticketing equipment at some ferry terminals, NY Waterway is urging riders to use the application, available at nywaterway.com, to purchase tickets in advance.
As of Monday evening, the ferry and NY Waterway bus routes are operating on regular schedules, except from Jersey City’s Port Liberte terminal, which was damaged severely by Hurricane Sandy.
Some customers, especially those without monthly passes, encountered delays purchasing tickets.
Check nywaterway.com or facebook.com/nywaterway for updates or call 1-800-53-FERRY.
In related news, at a press conference on Monday, Hoboken Mayor Dawn Zimmer said that with buses overcrowded, she may talk to Waterway to see what they can do for local residents who need to take the ferry to get to work. Ferry prices are much higher than bus prices.
