Funeral services were held July 24 for John J. Kanzler, 84, of Mahwah. He died July 21. He was born in Jersey City and had resided in Mahwah for the past 15 years. John was a parishioner of Sacred Heart R.C. Church, Suffern, N.Y. and an Army veteran. Before his retirement in 1997, he was a financial advisor for the North Bergen Board of Education and prior, he was an accountant for CBS in New York. John stayed active in the accounting field by serving as the Treasurer of the Franklin Heights Homeowners Association, Mahwah. John is survived by his wife, Ann (nee Ditaranto) of Mahwah and his two daughters; Patricia Kanzler and her husband Mathew Pietrontone of New Providence, and Donna and her husband Christopher Datino of Montebello, N,Y.; one granddaughter Amy Vazquez and a brother Thomas Kanzler. Also surviving is a step grandchild, Robert Brummert and a brother in law, Nicholas and his wife, Mary Ditaranto, as well as, many nieces and nephews.
