Funeral services were held Nov. 14 for George Wallentine. He died peacefully at home on Nov. 10. George was born in Newark and lived in Jersey City since 1959. He was a foreman for The Pennsylvania Railroad in Kearny for 38 years, retiring at age 62. He was a World War II Army veteran. George was predeceased by his wife Babette “Betty” Wallentine; father of Margaret Muirhead and her husband Brian, Linda Stisi and her husband Dominick, Allen Wallentine and Nelli Grossi, and Steven Wallentine and his wife Rosie; brother of Andrew and John Wallentine; grandfather of nine and great-grandfather of two. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews and cousins. Services arranged by the Houghton Funeral Home, Jersey City.
