NJDOT announces Route 7/Wittpenn Bridge closure

JERSEY CITY – The New Jersey Department of Transportation (NJDOT) today announced the Route 7/Wittpenn Bridge in Jersey City and Kearny, Hudson County, will be closed for ongoing repairs.
On Friday, February 5, NJDOT will close the Route 7/Wittpenn Bridge at 10 p.m. and keep it closed until 5:30 a.m. Monday, February 8. A similar weekend closure will occur starting at 10 p.m. Friday, February 12.
In the event of inclement weather, the first weekend closure will be postponed until Friday, February 12, followed by another weekend closure starting Friday, February 19.
During the closures, motorists traveling on Route 7 eastbound will take Fish House Road to Pennsylvania Avenue to Central Avenue to Route 1&9T northbound and return to Route 7.
Motorists traveling on Route 7 westbound will take to Route 1&9T southbound to Central Avenue to Pennsylvania Avenue to Fish House Road and return to Route 7.
