Funeral services took place Jan. 23 at St. Michaels Methodist Church, Jersey City, for Kenneth “Spanky” Howard. He passed away Jan. 19 at the Jersey City Medical Center. He had been a line switcher operator for ConRail/ NJ Transit. He was a member of Mt. Olive Baptist Church in Hackensack, and also belonged to many civic and social groups in Jersey City. He was the husband of Jacqui Howard; the father of David (Leila) Howard and Darlene Dozier; the stepfather of Tarrod (Aisha) Hill; the grandfather of Tiffany Harris, Ayshawn Dawson, Tarrae Hill and Evan Howard; the great-grandfather of Maya Burroughs and Zaina Jones; the son of the late George and Florine Howard; the nephew of Dorothy Daniels; the uncle of Joy Hill; the son-in-law of Bernice Hill, and brother-in-law of Sharon Hill. He is also survived by a host of special cousins and other relatives and friends. Services arranged by the Watson Mortuary Service, Jersey City.
