TRUGLIO, LUCY

A funeral mass was celebrated Jan. 11 at St. Ann’s R.C. Church, Hoboken, for Lucy Truglio, 84. She passed away Jan. 6 surrounded by her family. Lucy was born in Hoboken and lived there all of her life. She was the co-founder of Truglio’s Meat Market on Park Avenue established in 1952 with her late husband Albert. The business still thrives today operated by her two sons, Joseph and Stephen. Lucy was a Girl Scout leader in Hoboken for many years and a past member of the St. Ann’s Ladies Guild. Known to many friends and family members as “Mama Lucy”, she was also a neighborhood confidant to her customers and neighbors whom she treated like family. Surviving are her two sons, Joseph D. and his wife Donna, Stephen and his wife Geraldine; her daughter Rosemarie T. Truglio, Phd., and her husband Steve Brown. Her special joy in her life was her grandchildren, Lucy, Joanna, Stephen James, and Lucas Albert. She leaves a host of nieces and nephews along with her two sisters, Antoinette and Helen Dell’ Aquila. She was predeceased by her husband Albert after 43 years of marriage and her late sister Rose Dell’Aquila. Services arranged by the Failla Memorial Home, Hoboken.
