MOLLICA, NINA

A funeral mass was offered Jan. 7 at St. Joseph of the Palisades Church, West New York, for Nina Mollica, 86, of West New York. She passed away Jan. 4. Nina was born in the town of San Bease, in the province of Compo Baso, Italy. The daughter of the late John and Mary DePaola, she came to the United States at the age of seven, and settled in West New York with her mother, father, and brother Gino. She graduated from Memorial High School and Eaton School of Business. Nina was the wife of the late West New York Commissioner Sal Mollica. They were married for 47 years until Sal’s passing in 1991. Nina was mother to her two sons, Jack and John; a sister to Gino DePaola, and a grandmother to Nicholas. She shared an en ing relationship with her sisters-in-law Marie DePaola, the late Kay Tabbachino, the late Mary Molina, and her daughter-in-law, Diane. Nina devoted her entire life to her family, friends, and those in need. Her acts of kindness and generosity will always be remembered by all those who knew her. She was a volunteer worker at Community General Hospital, WNY Little League, and she was a member of the Sons of Italy Lodge in Ridgefield. Arrangements by the Vainieri Funeral Home, North Bergen.
