Funeral services were held Jan. 7 for Henry Bryant, Sr. He passed away Jan. 1 at Jersey City Medical Center. He was born in Jersey City to the late Elsie and Henry Bryant. Henry attended Jersey City public schools and joined the U.S. Navy and was honorably discharged with medical leave. He retired from Langer Trucking Company. During this time Henry married Ella Williams-Bryant and to this union 19 children were born. Henry was preceded in death by his parents; his wife Ella; his children Henry Bryant, Jr., Linda Gibson and Steven Bryant; and two sisters. Henry leaves 15 children to cherish his memory, including Sheila, Dwayne, Ella Mae, Gregory, Kirk, Dorothy, Aneesah, Jeffery, Sandra, Charmaine, Tanya, Yvette, Troy, Adam and Asheya; 69 grandchildren; 101 great-grandchildren and 10 great-great-grandchildren. Henry shared a special bond with one of his oldest grandsons, Henry, affectionately known as “Boodie” to the family. Services arranged by the Watson Mortuary Service, Jersey City.
