Entertainment Weekly just posted a story talking about how the cast of the Jersey-based MTV reality show “Jersey Shore” is eveywhere. Their lingo is even reaching the top echelons of Hollywood.
They wrote Wednesday:
From Hollywood to Hoboken, people all over the country have now integrated such expressions such as “fist-pumping” and “The Situation” into their daily lexicon thanks to the MTV phenomenon that is “Jersey Shore.”
Could Hollywood’s elite be immune to the charm of Pauly D’s gel and Snooki’s charisma? In an effort to find out, MTV News’ Josh Horowitz hit the red carpet of the National Board of Review Awards to investigate what celebrities thought of this cultural craze.
“Precious” star Gabourey Sidibe admitted she’s a proud “Jersey Shore” viewer. “There’s not a day that goes by — I don’t even watch the show regularly — but I’m always quoting it,” she said. Her favorite character? “The Situation! A few times a day, I’m always showing people off my situation!”
Well, so far, none of the stars of the show is in Hudson County, even though this isn’t the first article about them that used the phrase “Hollywood to Hoboken.” So for now, “Cake Boss” remains the main home-grown reality phenomenon.
What do you think of this show? Do you watch?
