Funeral mass was offered Jan 7 at Our Lady of Victories Church in Harrington Park for Michael A. Avella, 85, of Paramus. He passed away Jan. 3. He was born in Union City and lived there most of his life before moving to Paramus in 1985. He was the owner of Highpoint Garage in Union City for many years before retiring. Michael was a U.S. Army veteran of Korea. Michael was the husband of Phyllis Avella and the father of Robert, Michael Jr. and Steven Avella. He was the brother of Dominic Avella and the late Albert Avella Jr. as well as the grandfather of Sheri, Lisa, Linda, Donna and Christina Avella and great grandfather of Sabrina and Josalyn.
