Cammarano thankful for safe, happy July 4th

Dear Editor:
I would like to take this opportunity to offer my sincere appreciation to the men and women of the Hoboken Police and Fire Department, Office of Emergency Management, and volunteer ambulance corps, along with all the municipal workers and many volunteers, who helped make our 4th of July celebration a safe and enjoyable event. I especially want to thank former Mayor David Roberts for his leadership during the planning stages of this momentous day.
For the many tens of thousands of visitors and residents who lined our waterfront, the fireworks were a wonderful spectacle. As I walked throughout our City on the 4th and saw so many families gathered together, I was moved by the genuine outpouring of pride that was being displayed in honor of our great Nation.
People from every walk of life, and from all over the world, came to our community to celebrate the birth of our Nation. My thoughts were with the countless courageous men and women in uniform who are serving and have served our country so bravely, so that we may peacefully commemorate such important occasions like the 4th of July.
Hoboken is truly a great and remarkable city. The good men and women who helped make this year’s 4th of July celebration such a memorable day have my deepest gratitude.

Sincerely,

Mayor Peter J. Cammarano
