In an apparent attempt to heal wounds from the hotly contested mayoral election and to create a positive relationship with his former opponents, Mayor-Elect Peter Cammarano has apparently asked former Councilman Tony Soares to work on his transition team.
Soares, a known supporter of Dawn Zimmer, said he is considering the offer.
Zimmer is expected to be elected City Council president at the reorganization meeting on July 1, and several other supporters say they might be able to work with Cammarano if he remains loyal to his most recent campaign rhetoric on open space and reforming government.
