Speedster gives away alleged marijuana-users
While operating a radar unit on Sunday, Oct. 2 at approximately 12:30 a.m., Guttenberg police observed a speeding vehicle heading north on River Road. When they started to pursue the vehicle, officers noticed a small odor of burnt marijuana allegedly coming from the car directly in front of them, which was a different car, according to a report.
After pulling over the vehicle with the alleged smell at 7500 River Road, officers noticed multiple yellow and clear glassine bags and a small scale that were allegedly inside the car, according to a police report.
Officers said they saw “green vegetation believed to be marijuana” on the driver’s side and on the passenger side floor, as well as a “marijuana blunt,” according to the police report.
Joseph Barry, 23, of Fairview, and Kejuan Locarno, 22, of North Bergen, were arrested and charged with possession of CDS (an abbreviation for a controlled dangerous substance) and distribution of CDS, police say.
