DEL GIODICE, NICHOLAS E.

A funeral mass was offered July 18 at St. Anne’s Church, 3545 Kennedy Boulevard, Jersey City, for Nicholas E. Del Giodice, 91, a lifelong resident of Jersey City. He passed away July 14. Nicholas was a teacher for 25 years at the Hudson County Vocational Technical High School and retired in 1994. Prior to that, he was an aeronautical engineer and technical instructor at Bendix Aviation for over two decades. Nicholas served in the US Air Force during World War II. He enjoyed spending many hours doing projects in his home and workshop, and had a passion for Big Band, Classical, and Neapolitan music, as well as Ballroom and Swing Dancing. He was an avid student of history, a great follower of baseball and fan of the NY Yankees, and a former catcher for the U.S. Air Force baseball team.
First and foremost, Nicholas loved spending time with his wife and family and they with him. Nicholas was a longtime parishioner and usher at St. Anne’s Church, Jersey City. Nicholas was the husband of 65 years to Nancy; father of Marie Bihuniak and husband Joseph; Tina; Nicholas; and Joseph Del Giodice; and grandfather of Connie Anne Bihuniak. Nicholas is survived by members of the Del Giodice and Dispoto families, many nieces, nephews, students and friends. Services arranged by the Riotto Funeral Home, Jersey City.
