CALLIGY, THOMAS P.

Funeral mass took place April 9 at Our Lady of Grace Church for Thomas P. Calligy, 86, of Hoboken. He died April 5. He was the husband of 60 years to Audrey (nee: Jones) and the father of John, Mary, Jane, Nancy,Gerard, Carol, Eileen, Brian, Cathleen and Pat. He was also Grandpa to 22 children and Great Grandpa to 6 children. A lifelong parishioner of Our Lady of Grace Church, Tom was a Graduate of St. Michael’s High School (class of 1944) and Rutgers law School. He served in the United States Army during World War II.
During his long career as an attorney, he was admitted to argue before the United States Supreme Court. Tom was a member of the Knights of Columbus, the American Legion, and the Hoboken Elks where he served as an exalted ruler. In addition to his wife and children, he is also survived by his sister Eileen Cowan. He was Father in Law to Ockkyung Lee, Gregory Stewart, Lisa DeMarco Calligy, Richard Carbonaro, Thomas Foley, Catherine Calligy, Jerard Gonzales and Elaine Calligy. He was predeceased by Sons in Law Roger Schechter and Donald Carrie. He was also predeceased by his sister Mary Callaghan, his brothers Joseph and James Calligy, and his Sister in Law Jacquelyn Jones. Services arranged by the Earl F. Bosworth Funeral Home, Hoboken.
