JERSEY CITY — Michael Settles, 36, of Jersey City, was pronounced dead as result of gun shot wounds shortly after 11 p.m. on April 11, according to the Hudson County Prosecutor’s Office.
Jersey City police were called to the area of Bergen and Orient avenues shortly before 11 p.m. on reports of gunshots and a man down.
Upon arrival, officers found Settles on the ground in front of 290 Bergen Avenue with gunshot wounds to his upper body. Medical aid was administered, however Settles was pronounced dead at the scene shortly after 11 p.m.
The Hudson County Prosecutor’s Office Homicide Unit is conducting the investigation. No arrests have been made so far. Anyone with information is asked to contact the Hudson County Prosecutor’s Office Homicide Unit at (201) 915-1345. All calls will be kept confidential. – By Al Sullivan
