65, of Bayonne, passed away December 10, 2015 in Sandy Springs, Georgia. Charlene was born in Bayonne to Belle and Jacob Goldman on February 28, 1950. She graduated from Bayonne High School in 1967. Charlene earned her Bachelors and Masters in Education from Jersey City State College. A teacher in the Cranford Board of Education for 36 years, Charlene was an active philanthropic leader in the Bayonne community. Charlene was the former president of the Bayonne Jewish Community Center. She also had leadership roles in various organizations including Hadassah, Bayonne Peninsula Women’s Club, and the Temple Emanuel Sisterhood. Charlene is preceded in death by her parents, Belle and Jacob, her sister Carole Goldman, and her husband, Barry P. Hyman, the owner of Hyman Shoe’s in Bayonne. Charlene is survived by her son Jack, daughter-in-law Debbie, and her two grandchildren Jeremy and Emily, all from Atlanta, GA. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to the Bayonne Jewish Community Center or Congregation B’nai Torah of Atlanta.
