‘Drop in meetings’ to be held this week in Hoboken and Weehawken as residents ask questions about seawalls to combat flooding

HOBOKEN — Hoboken, Weehawken, and Jersey City will see anti-flooding measures over the next decade thanks to a $230 million federal program, but recent hearings in Hoboken have spurred some residents to ask questions about what kinds of seawalls should go where in the area. The walls may block views for some residents.
Hoboken and Weehawken will be hosting more meetings to discuss the matter.The upcoming drop-in meetings will be held today,: Dec. 14, from 6 to 8:30 p.m. at the Hoboken Historical Museum, 1301 Hudson St., Dec. 15 from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. at St. Lawrence Church’s Community Room, 22 Hackensack Ave. in Weehawken, and Dec. 17 from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. at the Hoboken Housing Authority Senior Building, 221 Jackson St.
