The Port Authority will conduct an emergency response exercise at the Port Authority Bus Terminal in Manhattan on Sunday, April 17, from 6 a.m. to 1 p.m.
A section of the first floor, and the entire second floor of the bus terminal’s North Wing, will be closed to the public during the drill. While it will not interrupt normal bus operations, some customers may need to access their gates via different routes. Port Authority personnel will be on hand to help affected passengers find their gates.
Members of the public may notice an increased police presence inside and outside of the facility before and during the drill.
In addition to the Port Authority Police Department and other Port Authority personnel, the exercise will include the NYPD, New York National Guard, New York State Police and Amtrak Police. The exercise is part of the agency’s ongoing series of drills which enable Port Authority and other emergency responders to test and enhance response procedures.
