78, of Edison, passed away on April 30, 2016. Born in Bayonne, Stella was a graduate of #12 School and Bayonne High School. As a young adult, she was an officer of the Bayonne Junior Women’s Club and was also a very involved parishioner at St. Mary, Star of the Sea Church. Stella was the wife of the late Albert Castillo and mother to Pilar Knoll and her husband Peter of Metuchen. Stella was predeceased by her parents, Luigi and Mary (nee: Baccarella) Provenzano, her mother- and father-in-law, Mary Pilar (nee: Hernandez) and Angel Castillo. She was also predeceased by her sister Anne Keating, brothers-in-law Henry Castillo and John Ruiu and sister-in-law Margaret Provenzano. She is survived by her sister Carmela Ruiu, brother Joseph Provenzano, brother-in-law Charles Keating and many loving nieces, nephews, cousins and dear friends.
