Ana to the rescue

To the Editor:

I am writing this letter to personally thank the staff member, Ana Gonzalez, who works for the office on aging. I have recently been denied my Medicaid benefits with no knowledge as to why. At the time, I had no idea what I could do to help correct this problem. At the age of 78 and having diabetes, I was very nervous and concerned that my benefits would be taken away from me. Not only did Ana tell me what had to be done to resolve the issue but also made a couple of phone calls and walked me through the process. Ana directed me and my niece as to what had to be done on my end to resolve this issue, and now everything is taken care of. Without my benefits I would have had no means to pay for the doctor’s visits and the medication I need. Not many people would go above and beyond for people the way she did, and I can’t thank her enough. I really appreciate when people go the extra mile to make a world of difference for someone like the way she did. If everyone was one-hundredth of the person she is this would be a wonderful world.

Thank you again, Ana and staff.
