A mass of Christian burial was celebrated Oct. 11 at Immaculate Conception Church, Secaucus, for Leona Steffens, 87. She passed away peacefully on Oct. 5 at Hackensack University Medical Center. Born and raised in Secaucus, she was a lifelong Secaucus resident. Leona was a member of Immaculate Conception Church, the Mothers Guild for the Immaculate Conception School, the Rosary Society, and she loved volunteering for the gift shop at Immaculate Conception Church. She also was a member of the VFW Women’s Auxiliary. She most enjoyed spending time with her family and her grandchildren. Pre-deceased by her two sisters Carolyn Hallowell, and Anita Blatt, she is survived by her husband Charles J. of 62 years, her two sons John of Secaucus, and Thomas and his wife Francelina of Vienna, Va.; her daughter Diane Brink and her husband Robert of Edison; her four grandchildren Robert, Megan, Sarah, and David, and many nieces and nephews.
