Change of direction, a must for children’s safety

An open letter to Mayor Turner: I am a school janitor at Woodrow Wilson School at 80 Hauxhurst Avenue. I notice the traffic flow on Jefferson and Hauxhurst Avenue are narrow two-way streets. I think it would be safer if Jefferson Avenue was one way going east to Hauxhurst and Hauxhurst one way south from Jefferson Avenue to the Weehawken Library. The school buses have trouble picking up and discharging children. I had to stop at the traffic light at Park Avenue and Jefferson Avenue and park at the fire hydrant on the corner to let cars pass. Children play in the street near the school. Jefferson and Hauxhurst is a dangerous two-way corner. Please look into this. James Auriemma
