Dear Editor:
A few weeks ago the Hoboken Reporter covered a story concerning the assistance given by public officials to a homeless single mother and child. I congratulate Mayor David Roberts and the team of elected and departmental officials who contributed to the resolution of this serious problem.
I believe that public servants shine most brightly when they support the people whom they are elected to serve most especially around issues of human need and loss. The loss of a home, income, health and those we love can happen to any of us. At such times, compassion and a concrete helping hand can make all the difference in being able to cope and face the future.
