Dear Editor:
Last Wednesday I had the unfortunate occurrence of tearing my Achilles tendon while playing a tame of tennis. At the time I did not know the extent of the injury, but the following day my physician, Dr. Thomas Cusumano, recommended surgery.
While numerous hospitals in the area perform this surgery, I preferred to have the procedure performed at our local hospital, St. Mary Hospital, the following day. While I don’t have much experience with hospital stays, I can’t help but commend the hospital and its staff for the job they performed.
The surgery was a success, but it was the caliber of customer service that truly amazed me. From the moment I entered the facility until I left the following day, everyone from the doctors, nurses and support personnel acted with the utmost professionalism. This I can say was displayed across the board, even by the many who didn’t even know I was the Mayor.
St. Mary Hospital and its team of professionals are a huge asset to our community, which I would like to commend for their care of me and the thousands of other residents and visitors who pass through its doors every year.
