GONZALEZ, RAFAEL. Mass for Rafael Gonzalez, 79, of Jersey City, was held Oct. 22 at St. Bridget’s Church, Jersey City. He died Oct. 20 at Christ Hospital, Jersey City. Born in New York City, he moved to Jersey City in 1951. Gonzalez was a member of the Merchant Marine for 17 years, retiring in 1984. Survivors include his wife, Maria (Aponte); a son, Michael, and his wife Robin; two daughters, Linda Gonzalez, and her husband Obed, and Angelina Gonzalez; a brother, Anthony, and his wife Gloria; a sister, Helen Perez; 11 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.
