Mayor Mark A. Smith and Gary S. Chmielewski, Director of Public Works, Parks & Recreation have announced that the Recreation Division has begun registration for the Youth Flag Football League. The League is open to boys and girls from ages six to 13. All participants must be Bayonne residents. Children must be six by Sept. 1, and cannot be 14 before Nov. 1.
The fee for the League is $5 per player. The fees collected will go towards the costs of running the program. The fee is non-refundable.
All individuals who sign up will be placed on a team by the Department of Recreation. Individual applications are available in the recreation office.
The League will be broken down into divisions based on age. There will be four divisions. Instructional Division I, ages six and seven; Instructional Division II, eight and nine-year-olds; Division III, 10 and 11-year-olds; and Division IV, 12 and 13-year-olds.
Games will be played during the week at 4:45 and 5:45 p.m. at Gorman Field.
The deadline for all applicants and payment is Friday, Aug. 21. All applications and payments must be returned to Room No. 13 in City Hall.
