This may be the silliest Hudson County story of the year…but we’re only three days into the year

HUDSON COUNTY — According to NJ.com, a woman was cleaning out her 36-year-old son’s closet in their Jersey City Heights home this weekend when she found a parking meter there.
She told her son to leave the house, but he refused, so she called police.
Police went to the Beach Street home and arrested the son for allegedly receiving stolen property.
Police spokesman Edgar Martinez told the newspaper that the meter had damage to it, but apparently the son was never able to open it to get the coins out.
The meter was from Graham Street and Central Avenue — so if you want an unmetered spot, you might check that one out.
No word on whether the son had to find new quarters after he got dimed on.
