Dear Editor:
For the second week now, I’ve read letters from local politicians protesting the change to NJT light rail service that would affect Hoboken residents. While I understand and respect that Assemblyman Ramos and Assemblywoman Rodriguez, as well as Mr. Occhipinti, are looking out for their constituents and community members, couldn’t the exact same arguments be turned around and applied to Jersey City residents and the inconvenience we suffer every weekend when the Journal Square-33rd Street PATH train runs through the Hoboken station? Every weekend and holiday, my commute time to and from Manhattan is doubled because of this routing decision. Who is fighting that battle, I wonder? Who is looking out for the convenience and productivity of Jersey City residents? If sacrifices must be made in times of fiscal constraint, it seems only fair that they be shared.
Best wishes,
Emily Williams
