Do voter fraud and election rigging happen? Not often, but here’s an example

Presidential candidate Donald Trump has complained that if he loses the election, it will be because certain cities in the country will experience Democratic election “rigging” against him, but so far has failed to produce evidence. Even the Washington Post determined in a 2014 article that there are few proven instances of such a situation. They found 31 potentially credible incidents out of a million votes cast (that were reported, anyway). However, people have tried it — and here’s our award-winning story on one example that appeared to happen in a Hoboken election. Whether such a small attempt would make a difference in a national election, or even be tried with higher stakes, is debatable. However, this was one of the few times the press and witnesses were able to pin it down.
