DELLA FAVE, GERTRUDE

A funeral mass was held Oct. 13 at Sts. Peter & Paul Church, Hoboken for Gertrude Della Fave, 95. She passed away at her daughter’s home in Spotswood. Gertrude, best known as “Trudy,” was a lifelong Hoboken resident. She was raised in a Catholic orphanage then adopted at the age of 14 by the Lange family. As a young women and throughout her life she worked in many of the different factories over the years. She spent many years with Levelor Lorentzen of Hoboken. She was a hard worker and loving women and friend to all. Gertrude was predeceased by her husband Thomas in 2004. Gertrude leaves to cherish her memory her children, Richard and his wife Catherine of Hoboken, Lawrence of Naples Fla., and her daughter Mary Lou Galvin and her husband Michael of Spotswood. Gertrude is also survived by 17 grandchildren whom she adored and 24 adored great grandchildren. Also surviving are her sister-in law Nancy Popp and brother-in law Dominick along with many nieces and nephews. The family would like to thank Elizabeth who was Gertrude’s caretaker and friend for 19 years and also the Kindred Hospice for all of their caring and support through this difficult time.
