BORNTRAGER, FRANK

Funeral services were held Oct. 3 for Frank Borntrager, 98, a lifelong resident of Jersey City. He passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his family on Sept. 29. Frank was a U.S. Navy WWII Veteran serving as a machinist on his ship that transported troops and supplies in the Asiatic Pacific Theater. He worked as a mechanic for 45 years in West New York and a maintenance worker for 10 years with Local 32BJ, New York City. Frank was an avid fisherman who enjoyed music, traveling to Atlantic City and spending time with his grandchildren. Frank was the husband of the late Irene; father of Gary Borntrager, Carol Carlson and the late Sandra Lawler; father-in-law of Pamela Borntrager, Edward Lawler and the late Roger Carlson; brother-in-law of Lorraine Weil; uncle of Carol and Lawrence Wilke; grandfather of Stephen and Annie Lawler, Gary and Chris Borntrager, Linda and Frank Giacone, SueAnn Henderson, John Carlson, Richie Carlson and Kelly Dobson, Jennifer and Luis Dias, Melissa Aranzamendez; great-grandfather of Adam and Danny Carlson, William and Alyssa Lawler, Nicholas Bugiada, Riana Giacone, Arthur Henderson, Gabriella and Jacob Dias. Frank was also survived by his companion of 25 years Lili.
