WNY opens senior center

Local officials attend ribbon cutting

West New York has a brand new Senior Center with activities and space to meet.

Mayor Felix E. Roque and Commissioner of Revenue and Finance/Senior Affairs Susan Colacurcio hosted the grand opening of the Sunrise Gardens Senior Center with a ribbon cutting Monday, July 25, at 12 p.m. at 515 – 54th St.

The public center is open to all seniors regardless of where in town they live. It will offer a variety of services and activities, including nutritional programs, bingo, karaoke, Zumba, and holiday festivities like Mother’s Day, Father’s Day, and Christmas. Future programs will include sewing and knitting activities.

The hours of operation are from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.
