LAINO, ROSE

A funeral mass was offered Aug. 2 at St. Francis R.C. Church in Hoboken for Rose Laino, 92, a lifelong Hoboken resident. She passed away peacefully in the presence of her daughter on July, 30. Born in Hoboken to the late Gertrude and John Cava, she retired after 23 years of employment as the secretary for the Community Development Agency for the City of Hoboken. Rose also taught sewing at the Hoboken Library Evening School, and was a riveter during WWII for the USA Defense. She was predeceased by her husband Anthony Laino in 1997, and her sisters Clara Licota, Natalie Caputo, Mary Gallo, Florence Guli, and Margaret Cava. Rose will be missed by her daughters Andrea Papa and Michele Blakely, and her sister Beatrice Stisi. A great joy in Rose’s life were her grandchildren, Leonard Blakely and Michael Lynch and his wife Michele; and her great grandson, Derek Lynch. Services arranged by the Failla Funeral Home, Hoboken.
