Benson steps up for Bruins

With the (3-0) Bruins playing without their allstar scoring machine Sebastian Valles, the (0-2) Red Wings seemed to have a golden opportunity to notch their first JCC of Bayonne Jr. Division Floor Hockey victory. Taking the leadership reins, the Bruins’ Christian Benson gave his squad a quick 2-0 lead with two goals off assists by Anthony Baez. Plagued by a lack of offense, the Red Wings fought to make it a 2-1 bout as Kailey Delauter delivered with Mariam Rasslan on the assist. Holding firm for the next fifteen minutes, the Red Wings’ defense led by William Hulsman, Khaled Rasslan, and Alexandra Hulsman kept the score frozen at 2-1 until the Bruins unleashed the flood gates. While the Wings loaded up on defense, the Bruins took their offense to the next level by pouring in 6 unanswered goals as Brenden McCall (2 goals), Christian Benson (3 goals, 2 assists), and Toni Rivada (1 goal, 2 assists) leveled all the damage. Up 8-1, the Bruins proved to be hitting on all cylinders as Christian Benson stepped up to lead his team to another victory.
