A funeral mass was offered May 7 at St. Francis RC Church, Hoboken, for Gino William Jacobelli, 75, of Hoboken. He passed away May 3 surrounded by his family. Born and raised in the South Bronx until he entered the U.S. Navy, Gino was a graduate of Cardinal Hayes and remained a dedicated alumni and supporter. At Bendix Allied Aerospace, Gino gave 30 years of loyal service while working on the space shuttle and then the Hubble Space Telescope. During this time Gino attended Fairleigh Dickenson University and graduated summa cum laude at the age of 50. He felt, though, that his finest achievement was the love he gave and received from his family.
He will be greatly missed by his wife of 52 years, Gaynell (nee: LaPolla); son, Gino (Tessie); daughter, Lisa; brother, Louie (Theresa); sister, Diane; grandchildren, Gianna, Gaytana, Jillian, Emily, and Jolie; as well as, Charles Lisa and Emily, Lana and Patrick Cecala (dec.); and great nieces and nephews.
Services arranged by the Failla-McKnight Memorial Home, Hoboken.
