Coastal flood advisory in effect from 6 p.m. to midnight

HUDSON COUNTY – The New Jersey Office of Emergency Management (OEM) has posted a Coastal Flood Advisory from 6 p.m. to midnight tonight for coastal and tidal locations. The tidal surge may reach 1 to 1.5 feet above the astronomical tide this evening.
In a release from the OEM, the agency said seas today may reach 5 to 8 feet along the coast. A small craft advisory has been posted through 6 a.m. Saturday.
“Locations along the New Jersey coast, bays, back bays, and tidal rivers should remain vigilant for minor flooding during tonight’s high tide cycle,” the release said. “Minor flooding tonight may be higher than yesterday’s evening high tide. Localized roadway flooding is possible through Friday. We will continue to monitor conditions as they develop.”
