17-year-old boy fatally shot near Fulton Street in Jersey City

JERSEY CITY – A 17-year-old Jersey City boy was shot in the head and later died shortly before 5 p.m. on April 26.
Jersey City police on patrol noticed a large group on Fulton Avenue. This group was apparently trying to put Rondell J. Rush, who had been shot in the head, into a vehicle in order to get him to a hospital.
The vehicle was stopped by police a short distance later at 225 Martin Luther King Drive. The victim was then transported by ambulance to the Jersey City Medical Center with an apparent gunshot wound to his head. The victim was later pronounced dead on Wednesday, April 27 at approximately 1:38 p.m.
The investigation is being conducted by Prosecutor’s Office Homicide Unit. A motive has not been identified. No arrests have been made yet.
